Grandparent's Visit

Ryan's parents came into town last weekend and we had a great time!! Friday night Ryan's parents watched Ev while we went and celebrated our friends birthday. Then Saturday we got dressed in our Auburn gear and head to the Auburn vs. Arkansas game ( sadly to say Auburn lost). My mom watched Evan while we were at the game, it was too cold to take him. Then Saturday evening we went to dinner with some of Bob and Cheryl's friends that live in Fayetteville. Sunday afternoon we went to a pumpkin patch and corn maze with Bob and Cheryl, our friends Mike and Jamie and their daughter Ava (2yrs), and Jeff and Sarah and their two little ones Harrison (2yrs) and Avery (4.5mos). It was a lot of fun! We picked out pumpkins, had a hotdog lunch, went on a tractor cow ride, did a corn maze, and went on a high ride! It was a fun filled afternoon. Sunday evening my friend Ronda came and watched Evan while we took Ryan's parents out for dinner to celebrate Bob's birthday and to say thanks for all they do! Overall it was a great fun filled weekend!!

Evan and I were over at the Forbis's and Evan found a little soft football and started throwing it around. It was adorable and Katie and I got this video!

Sick Evan

On Sunday Evan ran a 103 temp out of no where. He hasn't been himself the last few weeks because of teething. He has had a really runny nose, hasn't slept well, or eaten well; but he has had good days and bad days. So Sunday when he wasn't in the best of moods we just assumed it was because of teething. He ended up running a 103 temp for the day, but Monday morning he had no fever. So who knows if he had a 24 hr bug or if the temp was from teething. What I have read its normal to have a 100-101 temp but a lot of my mom friends said their little ones ran a higher temp (102/103) every once in a while. Any who Ryan got this video of him... ( Ryan said he slept like that for 30 minutes) Evan also feel asleep in my arms later that day and on Ryan while he was laying on the floor.. if anyone knows Evan he is not the fall asleep in your arms type of baby.. never has been, even when he was little.

Evan and his new bike

We got Evan this new bike a few weeks ago and he loves it. We usually play with it inside but take it out on special occasions.

Evan Dancing!

Evan is watching Yo Gabba Gabba and they are singing a song, the minute the song stops he stops dancing.

10 Month Update

Evan is now 10 months old!! We can't believe how much he has grown lately ( which I am sure everyone has heard me say ten too many times!)
Evan and I started a Mommy and Me class at Gymoboree a few weeks ago and Evan loves it!!

Evan also started a Mother's Day Out Program (MDO) every Friday from 8-2, which gives me some time to myself and to do those things that are hard to do with a baby ( like wait in a doctors office for a hour). We are lucky because our friend Jamie is the assistant teacher in that class so I know he is well taken care of! I had no worries before because Evan is such a happy fun baby to be with I knew whoever was his teacher would fall in love :) ( no bias there, right?!)

On Monday Evan will start a swimming class, which we are very excited about. Evan loves the water but has shown some resistance to it in certain situations. So hopefully this will calm his fears. He will be taking the class with Ryan, while I sit on the sidelines-- without a bathing suit on :)
As you can see we like to stay busy. Evan is not much for playing on the floor with his same toys day in and day out, so our new schedule has been very fun. We also love to play out side with our new playhouse, kick the soccer ball, and blow bubbles.

Evan's Current Milestones
- Evan has 3 teeth and is working on the 4th. ( 2 up, 2 down)
- Evan eats all food pretty much now and refuses to eat his baby food. His favorites are mac and cheese, banana's, carrots, and pancakes.
- He stands for long periods of time and you can even set him down in a standing position.
- He has lost some interest in Baby Einstein and LOVES Yo Gabba Gabba
- I think recently he has started to dance when he hears music or sees someone else dancing. He will be sitting on the floor, flap his arms, and kick his feet
- My favorite new thing Evan does is cuddling. He loves to lay his head in your lap or lay down on you. It adorable! I tell him all the time I can't wait till he is older and come and sleep with me some times.

9 Month CheckUp

Evan had his 9 month check up today and it went well. We haven't been able to find a pediatrician we like, but after many recommendations we finally did! ( NWA Pediatrics in Fayetteville)
Evan weighted 20lbs and 15oz and was 28.75 inches tall. Both in the 50% percentile. He wasn't as big of a chunky butt as I thought :) but I think he has slimmed down some lately with the nasty flu like virus we had and then just being more active and eating less formula. ( oh and the doctor said we probably had the swine flu because that is the only flu they have seen this year, so if that's true hopefully it will keep up safe from getting it again- but still wash wash wash your hands!)

Evan's new Climber

I found Evan a gently used climber this week and he already loves it!! I also found one for mom's house and a wagon for her to pull him around their "farm" ( its really not a farm.. there are no animals there, but for some reason that's what they call it :)
I didn't even have the other climber out of the car and Evan had climbed up the slide and was standing on the top! I couldn't believed how quickly he did it. Below are some pictures of him playing in the backyard with Daddy being the spotter quick to catch him if needed!

I love this pic, its of Evan trying to crawl up the slide and getting tired and resting his head :)

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day Ryan, Evan, and I went to Birmingham AL to visit Ryan's family. It was Evan's first long road trip (8.5hours) and he did pretty good, keep in mind we didn't leave until almost 6pm and he goes to bed around 730pm so it was a late night for Ryan and I driving, but definitely worth it!
Friday afternoon we went to the Birmingham Zoo with Ryan's brother Jerrod, his wife Susan, and their daughter Meredith, and Ryan's parent Bob and Cheryl.
And then on Saturday Bob, Jerrod, Ryan, and I went to the Auburn football game, while Susan and Cheryl graciously offered to stay back with the kids.
Meredith had a little chair that Evan just loved and climbed all over and fell off of all weekend :) Hopefully Santa will bring Evan one for Christmas.
Before we left we did our usual out of town shopping and stopped at a BabiesRUs ( we don't have one in our area) and got a cute picture of Evan sitting in one of their small chairs ( this chair was no where near as fabulous as Meredith's though)
Overall we had a great weekend and it was nice to see family!

Evan's First Tooth!

Evan officially has his first tooth (9/6/09)! Its on the bottom, the front right. And it looks like there are 3 more coming in any day now! The other bottom front left and the two top front. Evan doesn't seem to be bothered by them, he chews a little differently when he eats and some times will let out a cry if he is playing and hits the toy against his mouth a certain way but besides that he is in good spirits!

Evan Loving His Mac&Cheese

Evan loves macaroni and cheese! He has only had it twice but both times he inhaled it. This video cracks me up because he is sucking the noodles out of his hands. I think he would of eaten the entire box if I let him.

Oh I also noticed what looks like two teeth coming in, the top front two! He doesn't seemed to be bothered by them though.

Big Boy Standing!

Evan started standing by himself all the time last week. He doesn't even need to pull himself up on anything to get into a standing position. He hasn't attempted walking at all, and has kind of lost interest in walking while you hold his hands. I read that is normal for a baby to lose interest in one thing while learning a new skill.

Evan's big boy video

I got a video of Evan this morning waving, making "indian noises" with his mouth, and even standing for a brief second! Oh and showing his vocal side. Its not the best video of his "abilities" but Evan was more interested in the Today Show then me :)

9 months!

Evan is 9 months old and is turning into such a big boy! Our baby days have definitely left us and a rambunctious toddler is right around the corner. The changes that Evan has made over the last 2 months are mind blowing.
Here is an update of Evan's milestones at 9 months.
Evan is waving- he usually just lifts up a hand but some times he wiggles his fingers. But whenever we are out and he sees someone he will raise his arm to wave at them. Its adorable!
He is making "indian noises" with his hand.
He will zerbert his arm or you. He loves to zerbert our legs.
He is holding his own bottle.
He will stand for a few seconds by himself.
Evan can give high fives.
The only word he is still saying is "mama"
He can eat a lot of finger foods by himself. He loves banana's and gets excited when he sees one, he eats carrots, cheerios, banana's, peaches, peas, beans, and avocado by himself.
He is finally putting himself to sleep. We just sooth him for a few seconds and then lay him in his crib with Dougie and a pacifier and he usually out within 5-10minutes.
He is very vocal and if he wants something you have he will just grunt/yell at you.
Evan's hair is getting so long and curly. Its adorable most of the time but he has some bad hair days :(
We are working on some basic sign language ( eat, bottle, more, sleep, drink, all done) but so far he hasn't seemed to catch on. Some times I think he does more when I am feeding him but can't quite tell.
wild and crazy hair

Our trip to California

Evan, my mom, and I went to California last week to visit my sister Rachel, her husband Matt, and two children Madeline (almost 3) Jackson (9months); my other sister Sarah from Ohio and her daughter Elise (6months) came also.We had a great week and it was so fun seeing all the kids together. We planned on getting all the kids pictures taken together, but it didn't work out, but Rachel's friend who is an amazing photographer took their pictures individually and they are great! Jackson was dedicated while we were there so it was great that we got to be a part of his special day. Matt had a bike race one day in Chico and we all attended to cheer for him, he came in 4th place! It was Mom's birthday and we took her out to dinner in Chico while the kids stayed behind with babysitters. Rachel also planned a picnic after Jackson's dedication. Overall the week went great, you would think 3 babies with different nap schedules we may never make it out of the house but it actually worked out. Elise is such a sweet happy baby and is so fun to be around she has a smile for everyone and just loves to sit and play with her toys. Watch out if you put her in her car seat she is not a happy camper. Jackson is so fun to be around and always seems content. He loves to sit in his jumperoo and kicks his legs and swings his arms, its very cute to watch. Jackson is such a sweet natured baby its funny to watch him when he pulls out his wrestling moves and acts like he is going to bite you ( I have a video I will upload later..) Madeline was fun to be with. She is very well behaved but definitely has the Wegner stubborn streak :) She loved Evan and called him Ev Bev and would play with him and chase him around the house. Needless to say I am sure Evan misses all of his cousins this week now that he is just stuck with him mom and dad.
Evan has grown soooo much the last 2 months its truly amazing. He has been crawling for over a month now, he pulls himself up on everything and can transfer between two things while standing, he can push things in front of him to use as a walker. He can hold his own sippy cup ( he loves ice water), but not his own bottle yet. He can eat small mushy foods by himself, but I prefer to help him because the clean up is really hard when your baby has a full head of hair :) He says "mama" a lot, majority of the time he seems to associate it directly with me and other times he just seems to like the sound. Last night we were watching a tv show that had clapping before it went to commercial and when it came back on. Every time Evan heard the clapping he would stop what he was doing to clap. I got him a wooden puzzle yesterday and he crawled right up to it and took all the pieces out by himself. I was amazed that he understood what to do so quickly. Yesterday I was sitting in the doctor's office and there was a 3 year old who was acting up jumping all over the place and screaming. Evan just sat there watching him and would laugh at him when he did something really silly. I have a feeling that will be him in a few years because he is such a hyper easily bored baby.
I will update later with video and pictures from our trip...our computer is under repair so I am using my friends to do this update.

Douglas

Evan has a new friend.. his name is Douglas the frog...
So Evan a few weeks ago was throwing tantrums when it was time to take a nap and he has always pulled and rubbed on my shirt when I rock him to sleep. So I got to thinking he needs a "lovey" something to cuddle with. So that's when I found Douglas. He is a stuffed animal/blanket. His head is like a stuffed animal and his body is like one too without any stuffing. He loves it!!! When he sees him he pulls him out of my arms and instantly starts rubbing it on his face. Its so amazing how quickly he took to it. Its helped so far with naps they have been a lot more of a peaceful process. I still rock Ev for naps so I take Douglas and lay him on his chest or over his eyes and he instantly settles down. There have been several phote ops of Evan cuddling with Douglas below is one of them :)

Evan mastered pulling himself up to a standing position today and has been doing it all day long.. on the couch, in his pack n play ( he got stock and couldn't figure out how to sit down it was cute), in the bath tub, on the wall... everywhere. He even stood by himself for about 10 seconds today. I am afraid we may have an early walker!

Evan has been saying "mama" a lot lately. Its seems at times as if he is associating it with me but others it just seems like he likes to say it. I am sure in a few weeks he will have moved on to a new "sound" but that one seems to be his favorite lately

Baby Mum Mum's and Banana's

Evan ate pieces of banana's and a biscuit/cookie type thing for the first time this weekend. He did so so on the pieces of the banana's mostly because they were slimy and he had a hard time picking up the pieces but did good when I put them in his mouth for him. He did really good with the Baby Mum Mum biscuit and ate the entire thing and washed it down with water from his sippy cup. Usually he just plays with the sippy cup but today he actually sucked on it for a few seconds in a row and was getting good sips of water. Grandma has already informed me that she has bought cheerios and she is just waiting for the mommy thumbs up to give them to him :) After this weekend I think he will be eating cheerios soon!
(Oh and to give kuddo's to Baby Mum Mum's they are the best they don't make a mess and offer 10minutes of entertainment! :)
