9 months!

Evan is 9 months old and is turning into such a big boy! Our baby days have definitely left us and a rambunctious toddler is right around the corner. The changes that Evan has made over the last 2 months are mind blowing.
Here is an update of Evan's milestones at 9 months.
Evan is waving- he usually just lifts up a hand but some times he wiggles his fingers. But whenever we are out and he sees someone he will raise his arm to wave at them. Its adorable!
He is making "indian noises" with his hand.
He will zerbert his arm or you. He loves to zerbert our legs.
He is holding his own bottle.
He will stand for a few seconds by himself.
Evan can give high fives.
The only word he is still saying is "mama"
He can eat a lot of finger foods by himself. He loves banana's and gets excited when he sees one, he eats carrots, cheerios, banana's, peaches, peas, beans, and avocado by himself.
He is finally putting himself to sleep. We just sooth him for a few seconds and then lay him in his crib with Dougie and a pacifier and he usually out within 5-10minutes.
He is very vocal and if he wants something you have he will just grunt/yell at you.
Evan's hair is getting so long and curly. Its adorable most of the time but he has some bad hair days :(
We are working on some basic sign language ( eat, bottle, more, sleep, drink, all done) but so far he hasn't seemed to catch on. Some times I think he does more when I am feeding him but can't quite tell.

Our trip to California

Evan, my mom, and I went to California last week to visit my sister Rachel, her husband Matt, and two children Madeline (almost 3) Jackson (9months); my other sister Sarah from Ohio and her daughter Elise (6months) came also.We had a great week and it was so fun seeing all the kids together. We planned on getting all the kids pictures taken together, but it didn't work out, but Rachel's friend who is an amazing photographer took their pictures individually and they are great! Jackson was dedicated while we were there so it was great that we got to be a part of his special day. Matt had a bike race one day in Chico and we all attended to cheer for him, he came in 4th place! It was Mom's birthday and we took her out to dinner in Chico while the kids stayed behind with babysitters. Rachel also planned a picnic after Jackson's dedication. Overall the week went great, you would think 3 babies with different nap schedules we may never make it out of the house but it actually worked out. Elise is such a sweet happy baby and is so fun to be around she has a smile for everyone and just loves to sit and play with her toys. Watch out if you put her in her car seat she is not a happy camper. Jackson is so fun to be around and always seems content. He loves to sit in his jumperoo and kicks his legs and swings his arms, its very cute to watch. Jackson is such a sweet natured baby its funny to watch him when he pulls out his wrestling moves and acts like he is going to bite you ( I have a video I will upload later..) Madeline was fun to be with. She is very well behaved but definitely has the Wegner stubborn streak :) She loved Evan and called him Ev Bev and would play with him and chase him around the house. Needless to say I am sure Evan misses all of his cousins this week now that he is just stuck with him mom and dad.
Evan has grown soooo much the last 2 months its truly amazing. He has been crawling for over a month now, he pulls himself up on everything and can transfer between two things while standing, he can push things in front of him to use as a walker. He can hold his own sippy cup ( he loves ice water), but not his own bottle yet. He can eat small mushy foods by himself, but I prefer to help him because the clean up is really hard when your baby has a full head of hair :) He says "mama" a lot, majority of the time he seems to associate it directly with me and other times he just seems to like the sound. Last night we were watching a tv show that had clapping before it went to commercial and when it came back on. Every time Evan heard the clapping he would stop what he was doing to clap. I got him a wooden puzzle yesterday and he crawled right up to it and took all the pieces out by himself. I was amazed that he understood what to do so quickly. Yesterday I was sitting in the doctor's office and there was a 3 year old who was acting up jumping all over the place and screaming. Evan just sat there watching him and would laugh at him when he did something really silly. I have a feeling that will be him in a few years because he is such a hyper easily bored baby.
I will update later with video and pictures from our trip...our computer is under repair so I am using my friends to do this update.

Douglas

Evan has a new friend.. his name is Douglas the frog...
So Evan a few weeks ago was throwing tantrums when it was time to take a nap and he has always pulled and rubbed on my shirt when I rock him to sleep. So I got to thinking he needs a "lovey" something to cuddle with. So that's when I found Douglas. He is a stuffed animal/blanket. His head is like a stuffed animal and his body is like one too without any stuffing. He loves it!!! When he sees him he pulls him out of my arms and instantly starts rubbing it on his face. Its so amazing how quickly he took to it. Its helped so far with naps they have been a lot more of a peaceful process. I still rock Ev for naps so I take Douglas and lay him on his chest or over his eyes and he instantly settles down. There have been several phote ops of Evan cuddling with Douglas below is one of them :)

Evan mastered pulling himself up to a standing position today and has been doing it all day long.. on the couch, in his pack n play ( he got stock and couldn't figure out how to sit down it was cute), in the bath tub, on the wall... everywhere. He even stood by himself for about 10 seconds today. I am afraid we may have an early walker!

Evan has been saying "mama" a lot lately. Its seems at times as if he is associating it with me but others it just seems like he likes to say it. I am sure in a few weeks he will have moved on to a new "sound" but that one seems to be his favorite lately

Baby Mum Mum's and Banana's

Evan ate pieces of banana's and a biscuit/cookie type thing for the first time this weekend. He did so so on the pieces of the banana's mostly because they were slimy and he had a hard time picking up the pieces but did good when I put them in his mouth for him. He did really good with the Baby Mum Mum biscuit and ate the entire thing and washed it down with water from his sippy cup. Usually he just plays with the sippy cup but today he actually sucked on it for a few seconds in a row and was getting good sips of water. Grandma has already informed me that she has bought cheerios and she is just waiting for the mommy thumbs up to give them to him :) After this weekend I think he will be eating cheerios soon!
(Oh and to give kuddo's to Baby Mum Mum's they are the best they don't make a mess and offer 10minutes of entertainment! :)

Busy Busy

We have had a very busy past few weeks... So where to start...Well Evan had another play date with my friends- Christy and her son Ryan (4wks younger then Evan), Staci and her daughter Bella (6wks younger), and Mandy and her two kids Brianna (5yrs) and Drew (18months). Bella has already gotten 2 teeth and holds her own bottle. So Ev has some catching up to do there :) Evan really enjoys being around kids so we had a good time. Later that day Ryan's parents came into town. We went to Eureka Springs on Saturday with Ryan's parents and my mom and Alan. It was incredibly hot but we had a really nice time. Evan was of course a perfect angel! Then we had a very nice sunday which we celebrated Father's Day with Ryan parents and my mom. This weekend our friend Bobby turned the big 30 and we rented a lake house for the celebration. Evan was the life of the party. There was a step taking you from the formal living room to another room and Evan was determined to climb up it on the last day there he mastered it! He also had his first boat trip which was a love/hate experience. He loved the wind and the ride but hated the life jacket. Evan has started making bababa and dadada sounds, its super cute. He has also started to curl his fingers back and forth like a wave. As you can see we have been super busy lately but definitely enjoying our summer and our growing boy. Our baby days are gone and our rambunctious little boy is here to stay :)

Still Crawling!- Father's Day!

So its been 24hours and Evan is still crawling! And its sooooo adorable we of course had to get another video. Evan celebrated his first father's day with Ryan's parent, my mom, and of course Ryan and I today. After dinner we were just soo excited for Ev to show off his moves we got another video of him crawling. We had a very nice Father's Day!!!

He is crawling!!!

Well our video luck hasn't ran out yet and we captured Evan crawling for the first time this morning!!!! Ryan's parents are in town this weekend and Evan was playing on the floor with his Grandma, he was scooting around all over the place. So I said hey set something in front of him that he would really want. So Ryan set the remote a few feet in front of him, it was just the carrot he needed!! I had a scare afterwards and couldn't seem to get the video to play back on the computer ( only on the video camera) but daddy came to rescue and fixed it! Evan has been crawling all around this morning ever since!! Time to start baby proofing...

7 months old!!

Evan is now 7 months old and he is getting sooooo big!! He will be crawling any day now, he is up on all fours most of the time rocking back and forth so its just a matter of time. Yesterday for the first time he pushed himself up to a sitting position from laying down on the floor and he did it again this morning. So its time to put the bar up on the crib because we wouldn't want our baby boy to fall out.
Evan has found a new friend, I am watching my friends kids for the summer (Carter and Katie) and Evan just loves Carter! Katie has been gone all week so its just been me and the boys. Carter is sooo good with Evan he loves to play with him and usually sits in the back seat with him just to talk and make faces at him. The other day he asked if he could put him in his carseat, his friend Timmy was with him too ( they are 13) so the boys were trying to figure out how to get all the latches together and it was so cute to watch.
I know Evan is my son and I am slightly bias, but he is the smartest baby in the world! Yesterday we were down at Carters and Evan has his own little room there with his toys. Well we had just got done swimming and Evan was sitting on the floor, he scooted himself over to his basket full of toys and started reaching in and pulling things out I was sooo impressed. I ran and got the camera and got these pictures of him doing it ( see below). When it was all said and done he had pulled out about 6 toys!
Evan is eating really well and loves his big boy food. He east about 4 tablespoon of both fruits and veggies every day. He would probably eat more if I let him but from what I have read he shouldn't be getting too much of his nutritional value from baby food yet but should be getting majority of it still from formula.
Last weekend Ryan and I took Evan to a local park and had a good time walking around, it was miserably hot so we didn't stay to long, but we still had a good time.

Evan reading his book

Evan trying to crawl and read!

In the last week Evan has started to push himself up on all fours and manage not to get one of his feet in the way ( for weeks he always had one foot stuck under him). Today we were folding laundry ( so excuse the mess in the video) after one of Evan's nap. As you can see he is so close, I swear the other day I walked in as he was moving one knee and hand at the same time completing his "first step"!
After his crawling work out he started "reading" one of his books. Evan loves books.. more because of how they feel in his mouth then the story... but I always think its so adorable how he holds it so well and lately has been trying to get the book open. Our boys is a smart one, what can I say!

Evan's First Beach Trip

We all went to Florida this weekend to visit with Ryan's family. It was Evan's first trip to the beach and first time meeting his Uncle Jerrod, Aunty Susan, and Cousin Meredith(2 1/5years old). We had a great trip! Unfortunately we were only there for 2 full days so it ended too quick. We got Moll family pictures taken on the beach, spent a few hours in the pool, did some outlet shopping and before you know it it was time to come home. Evan was great as usual. His nap schedule wasn't the best, but like I always say he is happy if he takes a 2 hour nap and he is happy if he takes a 30minute nap. Its a win win situation :) He loved the water and I can't wait for all the summer water opportunities.
Well to do a 6 month update (yes my baby is 6 months old!). Evan has probably had the most change this past few weeks. I can't really put my finger on it, but its like he isn't my baby any more but turning into a big boy. He has been sleeping through the night for about 2 weeks now!!Which is great, but I do admit I miss our midnight meetings. He is sitting up almost all by himself. I usually am close by or have pillows around him just in case, because he hasn't quite mastered the "fall" yet. He is increasing on the amount of baby food he is eating. He has rice cereal and fruit in the morning and oatmeal and veggies in the evening, along with 4-5 bottles a day. I am always waiting for his belly to burst, but it hasn't yet :)

Then my Mom and Alan came over for brunch and exchanging of Mother's Day presents. Evan and Ryan got me a new camera!! (mine was awful the pictures were almost always blurry) And me and my mom planted flowers. It was a perfect first Mother's Day!

So for the last few days Evan keeps holding his right leg up in the air. It was cracking me up so I decided to take a picture every time I saw him doing it!

Evan eating bananas

5 month update- Evan weights 17lbs 3oz and is 27inches long. We started him back on rice cereal and added bananas for the first time yesterday ( see attached video on it!). Evan is sooo close to sleeping through the nite. For about the last week he has been waking up between 4 or 5am for a feeding then falls back to sleep until 6 or 7ish. So if we could just get him to go for 1 or 2 more hours mommy would know what a full nights sleep feels like! He is slowing starting to develop longer naps and takes at least 2 naps a day that are at least 1 hour long. He has had a cough and runny nose for the last few days but no fever, from what I have heard it may be because of teething. He has been a emotional roller coaster the last few weeks ( baby pms) I was worried that he was getting spoiled already :(, if he didn't get what he wanted he would scream then once he got it he would be giggling again, but thankfully what I read in this book, that follows babies development for the first year, they are going through a phase where they don't know how to deal with all of their emotions and they will mellow back out in a few weeks. Evan is sitting up really well, but not quite on his own, I think its only a matter of a few more weeks. His favorite things to do right now are sit in his high chair and play with kitchen gadgets and of course watch Baby Einstein. Its been really warm lately and Evan has got to wear shorts, he has the cutest cangles in the world!!! I will try and get a pic and post later. We are meeting Ryan's family in Florida in a few weeks so I am sure I will get lots of great leg shots then :)

Evan's Family Reunion

Well there is sooo much to update so I thought I would do good old fashion bullet point to make sure I remembered everything and don't bore my readers!
-Evan met his cousins Madeline and Jackson and his Aunt Rachel and Uncle Matt for the first time this week when they came into town from California to visit. His Aunty Sarah, Uncle Jason, and cousin Elise also visited from Ohio which Evan already met back in February.
-Evan ate rice cereal for the first time and got his first bad diaper rash because of it :(, so we are back to a strictly liquid diet
- After a lot of coercing Evan got another hair cut, and his baby locks are all gone :( and now he looks like his his ready to leave for the army with his buzz cut :(
-Evan went to his first zoo this weekend when we visited the Wild Wilderness Drive Thru Safari.
-Evan and his cousins all got their pictures taken together.
-If Evan can see it he wants to grab it and put it in his mouth. Before Evan was really only attracted to his toys, but now he wants my mascara, my menu, my cup, basically he wants it all and he wants it in his mouth!
- I know this sounds weird to some people but after Evan got his hair cut he found his hair, he rubs on his head all the time now.
-Well as mentioned in a lot of my blogs Evan hasn't been the best napper, 30 minutes naps is all we were getting. The last few weeks majority of his first nap of the day is lasting over 1.5hrs!
